Wednesday – January 10th – Revelation 18:14 -----
18:14) “The fancy things you loved so much are gone,” they cry. “All your luxuries and splendor are gone forever, never to be yours again.”
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
FAITHFULNESS IN LITTLE THINGS IS A BIG THING.*
Happy Wednesday to you! If you are a long-time follower of this blog you are well aware that from time to time, I share about events that are happening at SunRise. I usually follow up by encouraging readers to go to the events pages for more information or to signup for a specific event. There are two ways you can access this information, first the SunRise Church O’Fallon App which now has over 1600 downloads, and second, the SunRise Website. You can also “like” the SunRise Facebook page where we promote upcoming events on a regular basis. The great thing about the Facebook option is that you have the opportunity to “share” an event with your friends and followers. We want 2024 to be the year that everyone is in the loop for and joins in what is happening at SunRise.
The pick verse today continues recording the reactions of the merchants who have witnessed the complete devastation of their source of profit and power over society. With today’s verse we reach the center element in the inverted structure of their lament. A word of caution as you read this verse, please note that while some translations make it appear that these words are directly spoken by the merchants, a closer reading of previous verses indicates that this is John’s angel guide who is speaking over this scene of economic destruction. The angel’s words speak to the final declaration of the merchant’s doom. The way things once were will not exist any longer. The heavenly voice speaks to the “city” with divine authority that their loss is irreparable and eternal.
Blessings
