Thursday – January 18th – Revelation 18:22 ------
18:22) The sound of harps, singers, flutes, and trumpets will never be heard in you again. No craftsmen and no trades will ever be found in you again. The sound of the mill will never be heard in you again.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
OUR GOD HAS A BIG ERASER.*
Hello Thursday! As we move toward the end of this middle week in January here is a reminder of one of our most powerful mission outreach programs at SunRise. Food-4-Hope is a youth focused program that provides non-perishable food items for people in need within the communities of the shadow of our steeple and beyond. This mission helps provide nutritional support to middle and high school youth, and their families, who have been identified by the school as needing food staples at home. Food-4-Hope is currently supporting schools in St. Charles County, Warren County, St. Louis County, and St. Louis City. Our current list of donation needs includes pasta sauce, noodles, granola bars, peanut butter, jelly, and fruit snacks. Donations can be brought to the church and placed either in the Twin Chimneys entrance during non-office hours or left on the Mission Porch (McClure lobby) when our doors are open.
In our pick verse today, we begin a three-verse section to close out chapter eighteen as John’s current angel guide focuses what awaits those who have resisted God’s invitation to relationship. The next two verses are addressed directly to Babylon. The wide scope of the death of civilization will include the silencing of musical instruments and song. The downward spiral of the evil of society will even pervert music into being nothing more than that which worships the Antichrist and all things demonic. Equally affected will be the end of the hustle and bustle of the sounds of business and trade, as well as the shutting down of lines of production (millstones silenced). John’s readers are being warned that nothing will survive God’s hand of justice. There is no going back to “normal”, no do-overs, for those who have chosen to follow the ways of the devil.
Blessings
Pastor Jim
