Saturday – January 20th – Revelation 18:24 -----
18:24) In your streets flowed the blood of the prophets and of God’s holy people and the blood of people slaughtered all over the world.”
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
ONE ALMIGHTY IS MORE THAN ALL MIGHTIES.*
Good Saturday to you! The arrival of another weekend also means the arrival of our next installment in the “When Your Way Isn’t Working” series. This week we will focus on the “Pride Problem” we humans so often struggle with. What happens when our pride gets in the way of doing the work of God because we insist on doing it our way? The story of the last years of King Hezekiah is an excellent example of what happens when we operate out of pride, arrogance, and boastfulness. Join us in the building at 8am or 9:45am. Online time begins with live-stream at 9:45 followed by unlimited on-demand options.
In our pick verse today, John’s angel guide now recounts the atrocities leveled by the city of Babylon against God’s chosen followers. As representative of the corrupt and self-centered civilization at the end of the world, she is judged because she has blood on her hands from all the innocent who have been killed on the earth from Abel onward. She is responsible for the deaths of both Old and New Testament martyrs, saints, and prophets. In her final appearance as the Antichrist’s capital, she will create even more end-time martyrs. Remember when John had first heard the souls of the martyrs in Heaven ask for vengeance for their blood, they were told to wait a little longer (6:10-11). Now, the waiting is complete. Divine judgement has been fully served.
Blessings
