Sunday – January 21st – Revelation 19:1 -----
1) After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God!
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE PERSON WHO PROVIDES FOR THIS LIFE BUT TAKES NO CARE FOR THE NEXT IS WISE FOR A MOMENT BUT A FOOL FOREVER.*
Welcome to Sunday! Our inspirational thought is perfect for a “church day”. Yes, when we connect with God in worship today may the inspirational thought help each of us focus a little more on the “why” of our relationship with God. Twenty-first century Christianity is not short on teachings, sermons, talks, and conversations that extol the blessings God bestows upon us while we wait for Heaven. However, sometimes that becomes the focal point of our Christian walk, when a closer reading of scripture quickly reminds us that we are to be all about relationship with God and the uber-blessing of eternity in Heaven. This Sunday don’t stop short of worshipping the God of someday Heaven. When we are certain of our future in Heaven, today becomes much more beautiful and peaceful.
In our pick verse today, we begin chapter nineteen of the book of Revelation – only four chapters remaining. For John the sounds of lamentations from chapter eighteen are replaced with shouts of great joy. The first word he hears from the expanse of Heaven is Hallelujah. Interestingly, this word appears in Hebrew form rather than Greek. When used in the Old Testament, Hallelujah is best translated “praise the Lord”. Such instances of the use of “praise the Lord” are accompanied frequently by reminders of who God is and what He has done worthy of our praising. Used four times in this chapter, it is the only time this Hebrew word is found in the entire New Testament.
Blessings
