Wednesday – January 24th – Revelation 19:4 -----
19:4) And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, "Amen! Hallelujah!"
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
GOD GIVES US THE INGREDIENTS FOR OUR DAILY BREAD, BUT HE EXPECTS US TO DO THE BAKING.*
Welcome to Wednesday! As I read our inspirational thought for today the first word that comes to mind is “participation”. Our relationship with God is a joint effort in our becoming a fully committed follower. God expects us to be, as the book of James states, not just hearers of the word but doers of the word. Our current sermon series is helping me (and I hope you as well) to discover the ability to doing things God’s way when it comes to active participation in His work. There is a fine line between doing nothing and expecting God to do all the heavy lifting, and our taking over control and doing things our way. Let’s work this week on being a better partner with the one who directs our lives.
In our pick verse today, John, for the final time, sees the heavenly court with its worshipful inhabitants. He had most recently observed the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures when the Lamb’s 144,000 human followers had been singing around the throne of God (14:3). Now, one more time, the heavenly creatures fulfill what God created hem to do: they fell down and worshipped God, who was seated on the throne. On four previous occasions John had heard their sweet hymns of praise. Recorded here is their shortest and most profound statement: Amen, Hallelujah, “truly may it be; praise to Yahweh!”
Blessings
