Happy Friday to you! We are on a short countdown to our first SunRise all church fellowship gathering for 2024. This Sunday following the 9:45am worship service (approximately 11am) we will be hosting our Chili Cookoff Contest. The chili entries are all in place, as well as the sides, desserts, and fixin’s. All we need is you! Yes, an all-church fellowship is not complete until all the church is involved. We are encouraging folks to sign-up if they are for sure attending – this helps in the setup process -, however we also welcome folks who stay after to join in the food and fellowship. To signup, go to the SunRise events tab on either the app or website.
In our pick verse today, John’s focus has permanently shifted from the previous extended vision surrounding the judgement of corrupt human civilization (Babylon) as her judgement is now complete. Beginning with this verse and proceeding through 20:15, John’s attention will be drawn to the events connected with the great victory of Christ at His Second Coming. Three striking but complementary portraits of his return are recorded: first is Jesus as the Lamb-Bridegroom united to His bride (19:6-10), second is Jesus as conquering King defeating evil (19:11-21), and third is Jesus as righteous Judge of all human beings (20:11-15). As this scene opens John hears, but does not see, the voices of a great multitude that were so overwhelming that John compared it to the roar of rushing waters and loud peals of thunder.
Blessings
