Friday – February 16th – Revelation 20:4 -----
20:4) Then I saw thrones, and the people sitting on them had been given the authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony about Jesus and for proclaiming the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his statue, nor accepted his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They all came to life again, and they reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
IF GOD LIGHTS THE CANDLE, NO ONE CAN BLOW IT OUT.*
Happy Friday! We are just two weeks away from the start of Soccer season at SunRise. Evaluations will take place on Saturday March 2nd and Sunday March 3rd for our Upward Soccer program. Games begin on Saturday March 23rd. Registration on the SunRise Events page is now open for children who are in K5 – 6th grade. As always you can find the “events” page thorough either the SunRise website or the SunRise app. Looking forward to seeing your kids/grandkids/neighbors kicking up a storm this spring.
In our pick verse today, John’s attention is now drawn to a parallel scene that presumably takes place in Heaven as the devil is cast into the Abyss. While we don’t have the bandwidth to flesh out all of the theological details, I will give you this morsel to research on your own. Verses 4-6 have long been considered the penultimate verses in Revelation that support a premillennial view of end time events. As a quick review, premillennialism is the theological belief that the Messiah will rule the nations on earth for an intermediate golden age before the world finally ends. Because of the importance of these next few verses, we will tap the brakes and work our way slowly through each concept. My intent is not to convince you that any of the three positions – premillennial, postmillennial, or amillennial – is the correct/perfect answer. But for us to be better informed, I want to share what are typically considered to be foundational verses for each option when they appear in our readings.
Blessings
