Saturday – March 9th – Revelation 20:15 -----
20:15) And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.
The Daly Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
IF SEEING IS BELIEVING, THE TRUE SKEPTIC REFUSES TO LOOK.*
Happy Saturday to you! This is clock change weekend across the United States, so don’t forget to set your alarm clock forward one hour before going to bed tonight. No one wants to be late for church – because if you are late you will end up in the front row! Speaking of church, this is weekend #four of the Lent series “A Jesus Shaped Life”. On tap for Sunday is a deep dive into shaping our lives as we draw from Jesus’ many examples of courage. When life’s situations seem beyond our control, the Holy Spirit is readily available to help us discover peace, strength, and courage to embrace what is ahead of us. Join us in building at 8am and 8:45am, or live online at 9:45am. On demand options are available on the SunRise Church YouTube channel for all our services.
Our pick verse today concludes John’s vision of the judgement at the end of the earth’s history. This verse is also the penultimate verse in all scripture when it comes to our individual eternal destines. Next to the Bible, the Book of Life is the most important book in existence. Inside those pages are written the names of those who will share in the inheritance of Heaven. For those whose names are not recorded in the book, then their “reward” for rebellion, faithlessness, and disbelief will be eternity in the lake of fire. It is important to note for those who think that God is a push-over, this verse is clear that there are no do-overs when it comes to God’s final judgement. If you know of someone who is a non-believer, then you are now aware of their eternal destiny. As this verse closes out chapter twenty in the Book of Revelation, so also is closed any future reference to witnessing or evangelization. Reading this today means there is still time for each of us to share our faith and invite others to Christ.
Blessings
Pastor Jim
