Wednesday – March 13th – Revelation 21:4 -----
21:4) He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE WORLD CROWNS SUCCESS, BUT GOD CROWNS FAITHFULNESS.*
Happy Wednesday to you! I want to add another great volunteer opportunity to your list for consideration. At the bottom of the list of volunteer options are Delmar Gardens, Villas, and the Landing. These three places are our remote Sunday morning worship service campuses that serve folks who are residents at each facility. Each week we provide a person who shares the message, folks we provide hospitality to those in attendance, and for those who are residents at The Gardens help assist them from their rooms to the gathering space in the front of the building. Prior to COVID we also provided both piano players and song leaders – certainly would welcome volunteers to help re-initiate this part of the services. If interested, please fill out the form on the “volunteer” page of the website or app, and you will be contacted.
In our pick verse today, we find one of the most comforting statements in all of scripture. Our eternity in the presence of God will be one that is completely absent of pain, suffering, sorrow, sickness, sadness, sin, and our greatest enemy – death. All of these things belonged to the old order of the world, where sin and death were an ever-present shadow over us. This verse is what Paul confidently wrote about in 1 Corinthians 15 when he taunted the devil by empathically questioning: “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”. It is hard for us to imagine the peacefulness of an existence where those things that have troubled us, challenged us, and have caused us to stumble our entire life are now no longer part of the equation. Romans 8 states that as followers of Jesus “we are more than victorious”.
Blessings
