Thursday – March 14th – Revelation 21:5    -----

21:5) And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.”

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
WHEN WE PUT OUR CARES IN GOD’S HANDS, HE PUTS HIS PEACE IN OUR HEARTS.*

Hello Thursday! Our inspirational thought for today is a perfect way to start our slowdown as we approach the weekend. I am certain that every one of us has some type of “care” we are carrying around right now. It might be some big, huge decision that needs to be made, or maybe it is a small annoyance we have set aside to deal with later, or it is possible that our “care” falls somewhere in-between those wide parameters. What ever it may be, our inspirational thought directs us to turn it over to God. And when we do, God will take the burden and bring us peace. What scripture, however, does not promise, is that God will always remove the burden, but we still can find peace in knowing that God is on our side. Let’s all pray that we can turn over those unwanted “cares” that are part of life.

In our pick verse today, John is writing down his vision of the new heaven and new earth unfolding for saved humanity. Important to note in today’s verse is the voice that John hears. Earlier in this chapter the first speaker was an unidentified voice from the throne. The “throne” is the great throne of Heaven, first introduced in 4:2, but most recently the place of the final judgement. The judge of the final reckoning was Jesus. Now He speaks, as Creator rather than as judge. This speaks to our Trinitarian view of the three equal natures of the Godhead. Even though we humans try to balance the nature of Creator, Redeemer, and Counselor in our minds and our language, we should always remember that God covers the aspects and works of all three parts of the One who sits on the throne of Heaven. When One speaks, or acts, all three natures are involved and integrated. What John hears is trustworthy and true becomes it comes from the One true God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
