Saturday – March 16th – Revelation 21:7 -----
21:7) All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
WHAT A FATHER SAYS TO HIS CHILDREN MAY NOT BE HEARD BY THE WORLD, BUT IT WILL BE HEARD BY POSTERITY.*
Good Saturday to you! This is the middle weekend in the month of March – a month that is certainly going by quickly. We are also five weeks into the season of Lent which means tomorrow will be the fifth Sunday in our series “A Jesus Shaped Life”. To our list of Jesus’ characteristics/attributes that we are complying to help shape our lives to be more like Him, we add the “Justice of Jesus”. One of my (maybe yours as well) greatest challenges to be more like Jesus is to have His heart of doing what is right in the face of opposition. He represented the lost, lonely, and outcasts from day one of His ministry. Join us this Sunday as we explore how we can add this important trait to our own Jesus shaped life.
In our pick verse John continues to give us details of what eternity will be like for those who make a decision to be a follower of Jesus. As a carry over from the last part of yesterday’s verse and right into today’s, God is speaking to the rich blessings awaiting this new reality for believers. The first reference (v.6) is to the spring of living water, reminiscent of Jesus’ declaration that if anyone is thirsty let them come to drink from Him. In today’s verse, God’s promise of fully adoption into the family of God will be realized with a simple statement that we will be His children, and He will be our God. Nobody accidentally receives eternal life in Heaven. It is reserved for those who recognize their need (are thirsty) and demonstrate their faith through good deeds (they who overcome).
Blessings
