Sunday – March 17th – Revelation 21:8     -----

21:8) “But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
NO ONE SO THOROUGHLY APPRECIATES THE VALUE OF CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM AS THE ONE WHO IS GIVING IT.*

Happy and Blessed Sunday to you! Part of our individual spiritual disciplines includes the opportunity to spend time with God in prayer. Of the many things we can pray about, the one I often overlook is words of confession. You know, those things I/we do that go against the word, will, way, and when of God. At the same time, I can quickly point out to others all the missteps they might have taken in their lives. Our inspirational thought today reminds me that I need to spend more time giving myself constructive criticism than spending my time giving it to others. The Lord knows there is enough in my life to keep me busy without having to glance over at your life.

In our pick verse today, John records for a final time the fate of those who have rejected God’s promise of everlasting life in Heaven. The contrast to a Heaven bound eternal life is eternal life in the lake of burning sulfur, that is the second death which has been previously described as the destination of the wicked at the end of the final judgment. While the judgment in 20:14-15 only stated that the books would be opened and that the dead would be judged for their works, this passage completes this scene by listing the actions and activities that God deemed unacceptable. This list includes the actions and deeds of those who chose not to fully commit their lives to Jesus while they were alive. Once again, we are reminded that any doctrine of universal salvation is merely a man-made wishful hope with no scriptural basis. Rejection of Jesus results in a forever in the lake of fire.

Blessings
