Tuesday – March 19th – Revelation 21:11 -----
21:11) It shone with the glory of God and sparkled like a precious stone—like jasper as clear as crystal.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
MOST OF US DON’T PUT OUR BEST FOOT FORWARD UNTIL WE GET THE OTHER ONE IN HOT WATER.*
Welcome Tuesday, the last day of the winter season! I heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend that the SunRise Food Panty looks a lot like old mother Hubbard’s cupboard. In fact, our pantry shelves are completely void of canned vegetables or soups. In addition to soups and vegetables, our top needs for the pantry this week includes: Breakfast - cereal, oatmeal, pancake mix, and syrup. Lunch - noodles, pasta sauce, canned chicken, and canned tuna. Snacks - granola bars, pop tarts, canned fruit. On an average week we send out between 50-60 grocery bags (think big paper sacks) of food items to the local schools and to folks from within our community. To donate you can bring items to the church during normal office hours, or you can have items drop shipped from Walmart, Target, Amazon, or your favorite food supplier. Thanks for making such a positive difference for people in the shadow of our steeple.
In our pick verse today, John continues to describe what he is seeing in his third Revelation vision. Earlier when John was viewing the events in the throne room of God in Heaven, he experienced the glory of God on magnificent display. When Moses set up the tabernacle of God in the wilderness it was filled with the visible shining manifestation of God’s presence (Exodus 40:34-35). Now the entire Holy City, Jerusalem, visually declares God’s presence. John immediately notices its brilliance like that of a very precious jewel. In his attempt to explain what he is seeing he states that the jewel is like a jasper, clear as crystal. This was one of the more precious stones that John’s audience would be able to equate with beauty and splendor.
Blessings
