Monday – January 18th – Ephesians 5:15-17

5:15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,    16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.   17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

Good Monday to you! What are your plans for this week?  What are your personal plans for work, fun, and activities?  How about your Kingdom plans?  What one new way this week will you seek to grow in your discipleship journey? With 2021 being the year of “Discipleship at SunRise” we are encouraged to strive to grow toward the next stage in our faith walk. Today’s questions are a way to help each of us be accountable to our relationship with Jesus.

Our pick verses today are a stern reminder from Paul that each of us must be careful in our daily activities. The evil one is lurking around every corner to try and trip us up and distract us from being a faithful follower of Jesus. Paul instructs his readers to live each moment thoughtfully, to use our time well, and to walk in the ways of God. Paul is quick to draw the line that we are not to live our life “unwise” but to dedicate ourselves to know, to seek out, and to understand God’s will for our lives. That sure sounds a lot like intentional faith development to me.

Blessings
