Thursday – February 4th – Ephesians 6:16
6:16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
The Daily Walk Bible inspiration for today:
WHAT PEOPLE UNCOVER, GOD WILL COVER; WHAT PEOPLE COVER, GOD WILL UNCOVER.
Good Thursday to you and all of your loved ones. Another week is drawing to a close and now is a good time to reassess fruitful opportunities for these first days of the week. Have you acted on the opportunity to be a reflection of Jesus to someone? Where your words and actions this week upholding the grace and love of the Kingdom of Heaven? Did you have more steps forward in faith this week than steps backwards caused by doubt? To master the role of being a full committed follower of Jesus requires us to be in constant connection with God.
Today our pick verse enlightens us on the fourth piece of the armor of God. I hope you have picked up on Paul’s subtle use of defensive armaments in our spiritual warfare battles against the evil one. Yes, we will eventually get to a single offensive weapon, but for know the importance of standing in a position of defense is where we must begin. As you can imagine standing behind the shield of faith is our individual dependence on God’s promises that they can fully protect us against the most severe attacks by demonic forces. When our faith begins to waver is when our defensive shields become to drop, and we become vulnerable to all kinds of temptations. It was the serpent questioning the promise of God that got Adam and Eve in trouble. When we question God’s promises we open ourselves up to be a target for the devil.
Blessings
