Wednesday – February 24th – Philippians 2:5  ---

2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,

Today’s Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for Wednesday:
SERVICE IS THE OVERFLOW OF SUPERABOUNDING DEVOTION.*

Mid-week Wednesday is here for us to enjoy. This is a great day to look back for review and a day to look ahead for future possibilities. How would you grade out your week so far? Have you taken the opportunity to either grow your faith or share your testimony this week?  You all probably think I sound like a broken record about these two subjects, but the reality is that as a fully “committing” follower of Jesus this is a daily exercise for all of us. There are no off days when it comes to populating the Kingdom of Heaven. I have discovered that in some of the least opportune times someone is waiting to observe my connection to Jesus. Kind of reminds me of both the scripture verse and the inspirational thought for today.

Speaking of our scripture verse for today, this is one of those nuggets of truth worth memorizing and living out. If there is a manual for living the Christian life it can be found in this section of the book of Philippians. Some versions of scripture use the word “attitude” in the place of “mind”, but either points us directly to what was in Jesus’ heart and soul.  Jesus was humble, willing to give up his divine rights in order to obey God and serve people. Like Jesus, we should have a servant’s attitude, serving out of love for God and for others, not out of guilt or fear. Remember, you can choose your attitude – which is about the only real choice we might have in life. You can approach life expecting to be served, or you can look for opportunities to serve others. Tomorrow we will be able to see how Jesus’ attitude is the perfect example “superabounding devotion”.

Blessings
