Monday – March 1st – Philippians 2:14-16 ----
2:14 Do all things without complaining and disputing,
15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
16 holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.
Monday’s Daily Walk Bible thought to ponder:
A PERSON WHO “KNOWS EVERYTHING” HAS A LOT TO LEARN.*
Happy Monday to you! And yes, you know the routine for a Monday. The start of a new week and the start of new opportunities to grow intentionally in our faith while we fully embrace witnessing to the people God places in our lives. However, if you are still thinking about the possible discipleship growth opportunities from yesterday’s SunRise sermon, then I would like to personally invite you to join me on Tuesday evening for an hour long zoom discussion on the passage from Mark 14:1-11. You can access the link by going to sunrisefamily.org/zoom and click on the link for “Talking With Purpose”. Looking forward to a great discussion!
As Paul continues his teaching on shining as lights into the world, he takes a few verses today to remind the Philippians, as well as all readers throughout the ages, about proper conduct as a follower of Jesus. Paul states that any and all complaining and disputing destroys mutual respect and fellowship within the life of a believer. He as already stated in verse five that we are to have in us the mind that was in Jesus. Those who desire to be like Jesus must not complain or grumble against God, fellow Christians, or even those who are not believers. Only in this way can we truly live as God’s children. When we represent Jesus to others than we are the light of the Gospel to a lost and hurting world living in spiritual darkness. Whose life might you brighten today or this week?
Blessings
