3:10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,
11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

THE WORLD CROWNS SUCCESS, BUT GOD CROWNS FAITHFULNESS.*
Another great weekend has arrived and the opportunity to enjoy the beginnings of springtime in the mid-west. Our lawn is beginning to look like it is preparing to battle for our couple of times a week attention. The trees around us are beginning to show signs of buds. Another week and we will have forgotten all about the sub-zero temps and mountains of snow of late February. Keeping our eyes focused forward helps us move on from the past, as well as prevents us from running into things.
Paul continues his in-depth teaching on all things worldly are a loss in comparison to a life lived for Jesus. The ultimate goal realized by every Christian is to know Jesus as their savior. When we know Him, we are enabled to live a new life by the power of Jesus’ resurrection. But we will also suffer some trials because when we follow Him the world will persecute us just as it did Jesus. The Christian who has died with Christ to sin must make that death to sin a continuing reality in their daily life. Through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, those who believe in Him will attain an eternal reward that is far greater than any suffering endured here on earth. Like the Paul of old, we may have many worldly accomplishments but our faithfulness to Jesus will bring us blessings beyond counting.
