Sunday – March 14th – Philippians 3:12
3:12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
Sunday’s Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought to ponder:

The fourth Sunday of Lent has arrived which means we are more than halfway through our seasonal journey to the celebration of the empty tomb and Jesus’ victory over sin and death. Our Lent discipleship series at SunRise is focusing on the week that changed the world. A seven-day journey over a seven-week season. This week we delve into the arrest of Jesus in the garden, on what would be late Thursday evening. Additionally, it is also not too early to begin making plans for Easter celebration. Our online services will continue at their normal premiere times. Expanded in-building options will include 5pm Saturday (with traditional Easter songs), 8am, 9am, 10am, and 11am Sunday with contemporary Easter songs. Childcare will be available at the 9am, 10am, and 11am services.

In our pick verse for today Paul continues to contrast a life in Christ with a life that is void of a Jesus centered relationship. With an understanding of the completeness and wholeness of our eventual final step of salvation, Paul knows he is not yet reached that level of Christian perfection. Paul acknowledges he still has room to grow in his relationship with Jesus. By pressing onward, Paul was determined to know Jesus more fully because Jesus had reached out and laid hold of him on the Damascus road. Regardless of our own personal assessment of where we are in our faith journey there is always room for us to press on and grow closer to God. I realize we may sound like a broken record about encouraging each other in our 2021 Discipleship at SunRise focus, but we are just carrying on a longstanding family tradition started by Paul.
