3:17 Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for Thursday:
PATIENCE IS ACCEPTING A DIFFICULT SITUATION WITHOUT GIVING GOD A DEADLINE FOR REMOVING IT.*
Happy Thursday to you! Today’s inspirational thought is for me both timely and impactful. As we hover at the one-year mark of the pandemic effecting our lives, this message reminds me that it is much easier to talk “patience” then allowing it to play out in my life. I am reminded of the old saying “Lord please give me patience – and give it to me immediately. If God is trying to teach me anything over this last year - it is that all things work in God’s perfect timeline and to God’s glory. And even greater to know is that I have no control over adjusting the plans of God.
In our pick verse for today, Paul launches a new and short section focused on our ultimate citizenship being in Heaven. It is easy for us to get caught up in things of this world, and often at the expense of keeping our focus on Heavenly goals. Paul had given himself, Timothy, and Epaphroditus as examples for the Philippians to pattern their lives after. Paul’s instructions were for them to give up on their dependance on “good works” to save them. In addition, they were to focus making a relationship with Christ their chief goal and to continue to press on in the Christian life. Would Jesus be able to point to you as an example of one who strives to represent a full committed follower of Jesus?
Blessings
