Monday – March 22nd – Philippians 4:2-3    ----

4:2 I implore Euodia and I implore Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord.
3 And I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life.

Monday’s inspirational thought from the Daily Walk Bible:
THE BEST THING TO DO BEHIND A PERSON’S BACK IS PAT IT.*

Happy Monday to you! Today we begin the last full week of the month of March and the first full week of spring. What do you hope to accomplish this week?  How will you better avail yourself to be used by God for the benefit of the Kingdom of Heaven?  Who might you meet this week that will be a blessing to you? Or you a blessing to them?  I firmly believe when we begin a journey with a good set of questions, we are more aware of possibilities and potentials as they come along.

Today’s scripture verses are a rare moment for Paul in this otherwise positive and joy-filled letter. We are introduced to two women whose only appearance in scripture is this one verse. Apparently, they are well known within the Philippian church, were probably in positions of influence, and considered to be fellow labors in the Gospel, which is why Paul felt the need to call them into accountability. We know no further of what the disagreement or dispute might be – which leaves this two-thousand-year-old word of encouragement still relevant today. The actual “issue” is not as important as Christians who are not getting along which can only lead to a disruption in the work of the Kingdom. When we see Christians in a dispute, we should attempt to help them come to agreement. An attitude of humility and harmony with one another in the Lord should be a desire of all believers. As Paul had mentioned before we are to seek in us the mind that was in Jesus. Maybe if these two women had read today’s inspirational thought they might have been able to avoid any dispute at all.

Blessings
