Saturday – March 27th – Philippians 4:8 ----
4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
ONE TEST OF A PERSON’S STRENGTH IS THAT PERSON’S KNOWLEDGE OF HIS OR HER WEAKNESS.*
Happy Saturday and happy weekend. I don’t know what is on your “to-do” list for this weekend, but mine has “mow the yard” penciled in for today. I also know that my list of things this weekend includes taking time to worship with SunRise. We are in our sixth weekend of focusing on the “Week That Changed The World” – a look at the last seven days of Jesus’ life. SunRise offers both online and inbuilding worship opportunities, so I hope to see you in one of those places today or tomorrow.
In yet another quote worth remembering from Paul, our passage today adds another layer of what it means to be a fully committed follower of Jesus whose life is a living example of the presence of Jesus residing within. Paul encourages us to think deeply about, and to continually fill our minds with what is good and of God. Paul uses several words in his list of “whatever is” with all of them meaning a life worthy of God’s approval. God desires for each of us to hit the mark of honesty, to be honorable, to live and see others fairly. If we focus on living into the words in this verse, we will be all that God wants us to be. And we will be a person that others will want to be around and turn to for inspiration in their own faith journey. Let’s spend some time today mediating on these things and then put them into our lives.
Blessings
