Saturday – April 3rd – Philippians 4:20
4:20 Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for Saturday:
THE HIGHEST REWARD FOR A PERSON’S TOIL IS NOT WHAT HE OR SHE GETS FOR IT BUT RATHER WHAT HE OR SHE BECOMES BY IT.*
Today is Saturday of Holy Week. While this is the eve of the empty tomb day, scriptures are quiet about the events in Jerusalem on the day after Jesus was crucified. The only reference is that the women went and purchased spices on Saturday evening to take to the tomb on Sunday morning. For us at SunRise Church, Saturday hosts our first in-building Easter weekend worship at 5pm. The service will be filled with traditional Easter music. Also, on Saturday at 5pm will be our first online Easter weekend service. Sunday online worship will be at 8am and 9:30am, plus on-demand anytime on YouTube and SunRise TV app. Sunday we will worship in building at 8am, 9am, 10am, and 11am, with powerful contemporary worship music. As a reminder - there are No seat reservations required for any inbuilding services. Out of curiosity, message me when or where you plan on worship this weekend. Thanks!
Our pick verse for today begins Paul’s conclusion of his four-chapter letter to the believers in Philippi. My Wesley Study Bible entitles the last four verses of this letter as simply “farewell”. What a great and fitting conclusion to this letter of encouragement and thanksgiving by Paul. We should always conclude our correspondence, conversations, or even our social media posts with a note of praise to God who supplies all that we have in this life. This simple verse contains the core of our relationship with God – the reality that all things come under the creation and reign of God. As we transition today from Good Friday to Easter Sunday let us look for ways to praise God for the blessings in our lives.
Blessings
