Wednesday – April 7th – Colossians 1:3-4
4:3 We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints;

Today’s Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought:

     Another Wednesday has arrived in 2021. And yes, it is another mid-week check and the opportunity to personally review our discipleship growth and witness results. Our inspirational thought for today raising these important questions. How have you grown this week in drawing closer to God? Who have you shared your faith - either through your actions or through your personal testimony? Who has had the biggest positive influence on you so far this week?  I have discovered I grow best when I take time to inventory my thoughts, words, and actions.

     Paul begins his first sub-section in chapter one today by lifting up his thanksgiving for the faith of the Colossian believers. In verse three Paul prayers for their continued growth in faith – a spiritual discipline to pray for the spiritual growth of others that we all should incorporate in our daily prayers. In verse four it is important to note that Paul states that he has “heard” of their faith. As such Paul had not visited Colosse and was one of the few letters written to churches Paul had not planted during his missionary journeys. Paul’s information, good and bad, about the condition of the Colossian church came to him through Epaphras. Even when we don’t personally know other believers, our relationship with God in faith leads us to a relationship with other Christians by God’s love. I am reminded of the old hymn – “when we all get to Heaven what a great day of rejoicing it will be”. All divisions, distinctions, and difficulties we have here on earth with other Christians will be absent and forgotten in the presence of God.
