Monday – April 12th – Colossians 1:13-14 -----
1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
PEOPLE MAY SPURN YOUR APPEALS, REJECT YOUR MESSAGES, AND OPPOSE YOUR ARGUMENTS, BUT THEY ARE HELPLESS AGAINST YOUR PRAYERS.*
Happy Monday to you! Today our inspirational thought seems to be a great one to start off our week. If there is someone in your life that you have tried everything imaginable to better connect with and they still are at a distance, then the above statement is just for you. As followers of Jesus, we should always consider prayer as our “plan A”, but if you are like me prayer is usually called upon only after I have unsuccessfully exhausted all other human centered strategies. May we begin this week with approaching every challenging relationship, serious decision, or joyful celebration with a prayer upon our lips.
In our pick verses today, Paul concludes his short teaching on walking in a way worthy of the Lord. It was important for the Colossians to know that the heavy lifting in their salvation had already been accomplished by God. As Christians we have already been delivered from the forces of evil which come against us throughout our life. At one time the power of evil enslaved us against our will, but now we can joyfully live under the authority of Jesus. His sacrificial death which brings forgiveness has set us free from the power of evil. When our lives are lived as a follower of Jesus, we become a walking billboard for what God can do in the lives of people, regardless of what may be on their resume. When we face trials and challenges with the confidence that God will prevail, our actions become invitations for others to want to know more about Jesus. As I have said numerous times before, God calls us to be a witness – more often through our actions and then occasionally through our words.
Blessings
