Tuesday – April 20th – Colossians 1:24-26 ----
1:24) I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church,
25) of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God,
26) the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints.
Today’s inspirational thought from the Daily Walk Bible:
WEALTH IN ITSELF IS NEUTRAL. WHAT WE DO WITH IT IS NOT.*
Hello Tuesday! Today’s inspirational thought ties in nicely with the teaching this past weekend from Matthew 6 and Jesus’ instructions to prioritize how we gather in or give away what we identify as the treasures of our life. How will your treasures make a difference for the Kingdom of Heaven this week?
Today we begin a two day six-verse section on understanding the ministry of Jesus. Paul draws on his personal experience as he shares with the believers in Colosse. Paul’s teaching always includes the reality that Jesus’ suffering on our behalf provides the opportunity for salvation. Paul’s own suffering helped carry the message of salvation to his corner of the world. Until the early believers became convicted by the power of the Holy Spirit the Good News of salvation through Jesus was not know in the world. Even in our own suffering we have the opportunity to help advance the Gospel to our part of the world. In God’s perfect timing – interesting to know what about this particular moment in all of human history made God chose to intercede – Jesus came that all who believe may be freed from their sins and gain eternal life in Heaven. The mystery of God’s actions is what makes our trusting God both an act of great faith and the source of great peace.
Blessings
