Wednesday – April 28th – Colossians 2:13-14
2:13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,
14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:

Mid-week Wednesday has arrived in these last few days of April. Today’s inspirational though reminds me why, at times, I may seem like a broken record of challenges all of us to be faithful and diligent in our faith sharing. As a disciple of Jesus, we are instructed to maintain a disciplined life in order to strengthen our own faith, and we are encouraged to share our growing faith with others. Today we see where obedience can open the door to both the mysteries of God and countless blessings from God. May my eyes be open today to see someone who needs to know about Jesus.

In our pick verses today, Paul lays out the power of the Gospel and the work of Jesus’ resurrection in our life, both now and for eternity. Before our decision for Jesus, we were spiritually dead in our human trespasses. We were dead, but God made us alive together with Jesus. To accomplish this miraculous feat God freely chose to forgive us of our sin and rebellion against the Kingdom of Heaven. How easily it would be for God to read the list of our wrongs and send us off to our deserved punishment. But God’s unconditional love for each of us caused a completely different and undeserving action by God. When we acknowledge that our debt of sin is far more than we could ever pay, we are then able accept the freedom that comes because God blotted out our debt by nailing the “paid in full” receipt to the cross when Jesus died for us. This understanding of God’s amazing grace is exactly why and what we share with others on this mid-week Wednesday.
