Friday – May 28th – 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3     ----

1:2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers,
3 remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father,

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE FIRE OF GOD IN YOUR HEART WILL MELT THE LEAD IN YOUR FEET.*

Welcome to Friday.  If yesterday’s inspirational thought was an “ouch” than today’s is a “wow”.  Our relationship with God directly effects our living out our faith both in our own lives and in service to others. The “fire” our inspirational writer identifies can only be flamed by our intentional desire to stay close to God in our every activity. If we only rely on an occasional check-in with God, the coals of our heart will slowly cool to less than a flicker ember. When we focus on Bible reading, Christian conversation, and serving others then we are pouring fuel on the fire in our heart. And when we do, we are making a difference for the Kingdom of Heaven in this world.

As Paul opens this letter to the Thessalonians, he immediately expresses his joy as he gives thanks for their intentional and thorough conversations, as well as for the influence of their testimony about Jesus. Paul is convinced that their trust in Christ brings a changed life. This new life in Christ is expressed through acts of kindness that flow from a real and genuine Christian love. Paul also knows that when we have hope in Jesus’ return it enables all believers to better endure opposition and difficulties with patience and peace. Whatever we may be facing in our lives, the peace and power of God can carry us through, and it can serve to strength our faith in the God who loves us more than we love ourselves.

Blessings
