The weekend has arrived once again as we welcome this awesome Saturday. In your many activities I pray that one of them this weekend includes time set aside to worship. Our SunRise options are limitless with inbuilding, online, or on-demand beginning this morning. We are in week #3 of the BeBold series where we are taking acts of boldness straight from the pages of the Old Testament story of Jonah. What has been your BeBold action for Jesus this week?
Yesterday Paul began a lengthy teaching on speaking into the good example of the Thessalonians. Today’s verses focus on the timeless importance of connection within the context of the fellowship of believers. Paul views the church community as a connection of people bound together by Christian love which has the power to transcend the differences of language, custom, and color. This community of faith included Gentiles recently converted from idolatry as well as those with Jewish background. Each person’s inclusion was made on the basis of their response to Christ through faith. Their faith was seeded by the power of the Gospel at work all around them through the witness of the Holy Spirit. The message of Jesus is most effectively shared and lived when those who proclaim it are filled with joy given by the Holy Spirit.
