Sunday – May 30th – 1 Thessalonians 1:6-7 -----
1:6 And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit,
7 so that you became examples to all in Macedonia and Achaia who believe.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE GREATNESS OF THE PROMISER ENHANCES THE GREATNESS OF THE PROMISES.*
Good Sunday to you! Today we have actually reached the mid-point of an extended holiday weekend. Many of you might be traveling or at least shuffling some typical weekend activities to include tomorrow. My prayer for you today is that you will find rest and enjoyment in all that you do. I would also encourage you to ponder for a moment our inspirational thought for today. How great is your “promiser” is the most important question you can ask yourself today?
In our pick verses for today Paul continues his teachings lifting up the good example of the Thessalonian believers. Paul’s words are timeless in that Christians have a big responsibility; people follow Jesus by following our example as a believer. Fresh from a life of pagan worship and idolatry the Thessalonians became examples of powerful transformation to other Christians. New converts to the faith are almost always more effective in their witness. The freshness of a new life in Christ is something a new believer desires to share with great joy. The longer we walk as a Christian, without reenergizing our discipleship growth, the more complacent we can become. We should, on a daily basis, ask ourselves if the observation of our actions and words would lead someone to be interested in Jesus or push them away. What “bold” moves must we make to be an awesome representative for the Kingdom of Heaven?
Blessings
