Good Saturday to you! Our inspirational thought today aligns perfectly with our current teaching series – Asking For A Friend. Over the last month we have wrestled with some really difficult questions about the intersection of faith and life. The series concludes this weekend with our final question that seeks wisdom on “Understanding God’s Purpose/Plan”. You are invited to join us in-building on Sunday at either 9am or 11am for all live worship and full Family Ministry options for you little ones. Online options on Facebook and the SunRise website gathered in community at 5pm Saturday, 8am and 9:30am Sunday. On-demand options are available beginning Saturday mornings on either the SunRise Church YouTube page or the SunRise Church app.
In our pick verses for today Paul wraps up his teaching on personal holiness and sanctification. Paul leads out this passage with the understanding that God is always faithful. God not only calls us to holiness, but God will both make and keep us on the path of holiness throughout our Christian journey. The only way to disrupt God’s plan is if we intentionally chose to quench the Spirit in us. Paul concludes this section by requesting the Thessalonian believers to pray for him and his missionary efforts. Friends, even those who are working for the Lord, those who are living a life toward holiness still need prayers. Whatever our spiritual accomplishments or spot on our faith journey we need to be praying for each other to remain strong and firm in our faith.
