Tuesday – July 20th – 2 Thessalonians 2:3 -----
2:3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
YOU CANNOT HAVE A HOLY COUNTRY UNTIL YOU FIRST HAVE HOLY CITIZENS.*
Good Tuesday to you! Hope your week is off to a great start and you are hitting on all cylinders for the kingdom today. As you read the inspirational thought today, I do need to remind you that the Bible passage this is associated with is from the Old Testament prophet Isaiah. His time in history included the fall of the Northern Kingdom to Assyria and the continued deterioration of the Southern Kingdom decades ahead of its fall to the Babylonians. If anyone understood the importance of the need for individuals to be connected to God, it was Isaiah. He also understood that a nation is only as great as the individuals that compose the everyday rank and file. The greatest thing we can do for our family, our church, our community, our state, our nation, our world is to grow deeper in our relationship with God.
In our pick verse today, Paul begins to unveil two signs that will precede Jesus’ return. They are identified as “the falling away” and the appearance of the “man of sin”. The falling away appears to be a general worldwide rebellion against the authority of God, led by the unidentified man of sin. Just as God sent Jesus to bring life eternal, Satan will send the Antichrist to disrupt and destroy any true relationship with God. Because this lawless one is the “son of perdition” (the fate that awaits the unrepentant person), eternal damnation is his destiny. Interestingly two different passages from the Bible, some seven hundred years apart, seem to be dealing with the same core issue – the relationship of God and humanity. God has opened the door for the prefect relationship and all we have to do is walk through and grab hold of the connection. Seems like a great thing to do on a Tuesday.
Blessings
