Sunday – July 25th – 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12     -----
2:11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
The Daily Walk Bible Inspirational thought for today:
Good and blessed Sunday to you! As we embrace this wonderful day that the Lord has made, we are reminded of our opportunity to worship God not just on Sundays but each day of the week. Our inspirational thought helps me put worship it is proper perspective. We worship God as a personal act of thankfulness for what God has done for us through Jesus. You probably could easily make a list of all the blessings God has poured out on you – reasons to be deeply thankful. As our response to those countless blessings we worship God. If you take this to the opposite end of the spectrum when we fail to worship God, we fail to appreciate what God has done. Simply stated, by not worshiping God, we tell God we are unthankful for what God has done, is doing, and will do. Sorry but that is not how I want my relationship with God to stand.
Our pick verses today end Paul’s section on guarding against the “lawless one” who will come to deceive believers. It is important to hold tightly to the understanding that God is not the author of deception, but God allows those who reject the truth to be misled by falsehood. Embracing these falsehoods can only led to eternal condemnation. We are lost when we choose unrighteousness as our way of life. When we allow unrighteousness to become the source of our truth and the foundation of our human desires, we have turned our backs on God. Not only can we reject God by being unthankful for blessings we can also reject God by discrediting or rejecting God’s word, way, and will for our lives.
