Thursday – July 29th – 2 Thessalonians 3:1-2      -----

3:1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you,
2 and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
      CHRIST’S BLOOD IS HEAVEN’S KEY.*

Happy Happy Thursday to you! Typically Thursdays are the lost day of the week for me. Not yet technically the weekend and not still considered the beginning of the week. But today the inspirational thought provides a powerful time for contemplation. We can think, act, talk, scheme, or act out on a lot of other things in an attempt to get God’s attention, and as a result hopefully earning a spot on Heaven’s roster. The simplicity of the Gospel is to accept that Jesus did all the work and all we do is say yes and live a life filled with thanksgiving that points to Jesus. And that is what makes this an atypical Thursday.

Today in our pick verses we begin the third and final chapter in Paul’s second letter to the believers in Thessalonica. Paul begins these final eighteen verses with a short section on asking for prayers. All spiritual leaders, including Paul, need the prayers of their people. The burden of our prayers should be for the success of the word of God to be shared with people who feel there is no hope. Our prayers should lift up those who hear God’s message and that they will hold it with honor and respond in faith. We pray that God will deliver His witnesses from those who oppose the spread of the gospel by inciting people to take a stand against God. Our prayers our powerful weapons against the work of the evil one.
Blessings
