Sunday – August 1st – 2 Thessalonians 3:6 -----
3:6 But we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which he received from us.
The Daily Walk Bible Inspirational thought for today:
THERE ARE NO TRIVIAL ASSIGNMENTS IN THE WORK OF THE LORD.*
Hello Sunday! Worship day is here – well actually every day is a worship day just as every day is a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus. As followers of Jesus, we are Easter people 365 days a year. Worshiping the God who created us, and then saves us from our own sins is a God who deserves all of our praise all of the time. Of course, it is Sunday and I want to invite you today to join SunRise in worshiping God at our in-building services at 9am or 11am. You can also choose to join our online campus gatherings at either 8am or 9:30am. You may also choose to find your own time and select your on-demand time from the SunRise Church YouTube channel or either the SunRise Church TV app or smartphone app. Worshiping with a community of other believers adds to the blessing of worshiping God.
In our pick verse for today Paul’s begins a new focus as he warns the believers in Thessalonica against the temptation of idleness. Paul has been made aware that some of the church goers in Thessalonica were not working for their livelihood but instead were living a disorderly lifestyle. Verse six is both a commandment and an exhortation that is given within the full authority of Jesus’ teachings. When Paul instructs the believers to avoid from those consumed with disorderly conduct, he does not mean that they should be shunned. Instead, Paul instructs the believers not to have close fellowship with them – to certainly not to associate with them in their disorderly ways. We are reminded from 1 Corinthians 15:33 that evil company corrupts good habits.
Blessings
