Saturday – August 28th – 1 Timothy 1:14-15 -----
1:14 And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.
15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
A WELL-WORN PATH IS NOT NECESSARILY THE RIGHT ONE.*
Good Saturday and good weekend to you! Hope your plans are filled with exciting and fun times for this weekend. While it is past the deadline to join us for the meal, it’s not too late to join us tomorrow evening at 6pm for an opportunity to hear Rev. David Fitzmaurice’s story of God’s deliverance from what has become his year-long battle of COVID and COVID recovery. Following David’s story folks will be given an opportunity to share their stories of loss during this past year of COVID. Join us for this time of healing and faith sharing.
In our pick verses for today Paul continues to share his story of transformation from the Damascus Road. In this life changing moment for Paul, God’s grace was so powerful and abundant that it replaced his ignorance, arrogance, and disbelief with faith and love. This grace came to Paul through his commitment to Christ Jesus. Paul’s use of the phrase “a faithful saying” occurs five times in the books of 1 & 2 Timothy and Titus. Here it undergirds the central fact of the Gospel message of salvation that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners from eternal separation from God. Paul considered himself the chief of all sinners which reflects his previous feeling of unworthiness and his gratitude for God’s forgiveness. Paul reminds us that we to often stop short of our own self-identifying with our past sinful life that kept us apart for God.
Blessings
