Tuesday – August 31st – 1 Timothy 2:1-2     -----

1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,
2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
BIBLICAL PROPHECY IS NOT JUST ABOUT THE FUTURE; IT HOLDS TREMENDOUS PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS FOR TODAY.*

Today is Tuesday the last day of August. At days end, we have successfully completed another month in 2021 – eight down and four to go. With 2/3 of the year behind us - how would you grade yourself as to your discipleship growth?  Do you feel like you are closer to God, have a deeper commitment to the Kingdom of Heaven, is your faith journey surrounded by God’s peace and strength? The ultimate Wesley question requires us to look deep inside when we seek the answer to “how is it with your soul?”  Lots to ponder on this otherwise normal Tuesday.

In our pick verses today, Paul begins the second chapter in his first letter to Timothy buy addressing the importance of prayer in the life of every believer. Paul instructs Timothy to instruct the Ephesians that prayer will take various forms. Supplications are requests for personal needs. Intercessions is praying for the needs of others. Giving thanks is the way we acknowledge God’s blessings in our lives. We are to pray for all people because God wants all to be saved. Verse two expands the scope of our prayers to also include those in authority – yes, we are to pray for our governmental leaders whether Christian or not, and whether we personally like them or not. When we have a regular and dedicated prayer life, we will have peace that will be at the basis of our relationship with God and with other people.

Blessings
