Tuesday – September 14th – 1 Timothy 4:10-12     -----

4:10 For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.
11 These things command and teach.
12 Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
GOD INVITES US TO BURDEN OURSELVES WITH WHAT BURDENS HIM.*

Good Tuesday to you! What a great start to this week and what a joy to be able to represent the Kingdom of Heaven through all of our thoughts, words, and actions. Our inspirational thought today points directly to what we are seeking to discover in our prayer time during our “Awakening” church-wide study. To be truly awakened to the Holy Spirit in our lives, means what breaks God’s heart will also break ours. We will see the needs of those around us and be moved to respond. We will discover the lost souls in the shadow of our steeple and in the shadow of our mailboxes and we will reach out to connect them with God. The power to step out of our comfort zones can only come as we are drawn closer into our relationship with God. May your prayers lead you today, and this week, deeper in your faith, stronger in your commitment, and even closer to the heart of God.

Paul’s personal encouragement and instructions to Timothy continue in today’s pick verses. Above all else the one thing that Timothy, and all church leaders, can lean on for their strength is that Jesus is the savior for all people. We must also remember that salvation is effective only for those who trust in Jesus and accept His gift of free grace. For Timothy, being a young pastor, it would be tempting for older (in age) Christians to look down on him because of his youth. He had to earn the respect of his elders by setting an example in his speech and through his actions. We can learn from Timothy that regardless of our age, or our experience, God can and does use us to the benefit of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whether you are young or old, don’t think of your age as a handicap to your ability to witness. We are to always live our life so others can see Jesus alive in us.

Blessings
  Pastor Jim
