Tuesday -September 28th – 1 Timothy 6:9-10     -----

6:9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
TO DO NOTHING IS TIRESOME BECAUSE YOU CANNOT STOP AND TAKE A REST.*

Good Tuesday to you! Yet another great inspirational thought for us to ponder today. While most of us would probably argue that we stay busy most of the time, when I honestly evaluate what I am actual doing - it is more often “busy work” than priority stuff. The devil tempts us into thinking that any activity counts toward “doing”, but the very nature of the devil is to deceive us into thinking filling time has an importance. Ture Kingdom work requires us to be “doing” God work. True Kingdom work is never a waste of time, energy, or effort. And true Kingdom work can wear us down to the point a rest is necessary to recharge our batteries. What Kingdom work might you accomplish today?

In our pick verses for today Paul continues his teaching on our seeking contentment in spiritual things and not in things of this world. Paul warns those who have a desire to seek the riches of this earth of the many temptations that lie in their path to fame and fortune. The desire for more and more material things can lead to all kinds of evils, including sorrows and destruction. A fulfilled life does not consist in the abundance of things, but in faith and godliness which applies to both the rich and poor. Paul’s carefully chosen words point to the sin being the love of, or obsession for money, and not money in and of itself. Money should always be seen as necessary for us to provide for our needs and to be a blessing to others. When money begins to rule our decisions instead of God then we are guilty of worshiping a false idol.

Blessings
