Saturday – October 2nd – 1 Timothy 6:15-16     -----

6:15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
ALTHOUGH DISCIPLES ARE TO BE SEEN DOING GOOD WORKS, THEY MUST NOT DO GOOD WORKS IN ORDER TO BE SEEN.*

Good Saturday to you! I am excited about week #4 of our “Awakening” series and the awakening that is already happening in the lives of folks here at SunRise. A friend of mine reminded me that when we pray for an awakening the next step is expectation. Yes, praying for the Holy Spirit to move in our lives and in the life of SunRise is one thing, but then preparing for God to answer requires a strong faith on our part. God may answer immediately, or God may answer slowly, or God may even answer incrementally. God will always answer in God’s perfect timing.  Our prayers for “awakening” can bear fruit for the Kingdom of Heaven next week, next month, or next year. God will probably even choose to answer in ways that are beyond what we can imagine and in ways that are not part of our plans. I guess that is why our part in “awakening” is prayer, patience, and obedience as we wait for God to move us to the next step for SunRise.

In our pick verses today, we conclude Paul’s four verse commentary on the challenges endured by Christian leader. Paul reminds Timothy that Christ’s return is anticipated as a historical event that will occur in God’s own and perfect time. To underscore the importance of Christ above all that the world offers, Paul uses the title King of Kings and Lord of Lords as a double title of exalted praise, emphasizing God’s supreme authority over all of creation. To emphasize this title for God’s authority Paul speaks to God’s immortality of having always existing and that God always will exist. With no beginning and no end God transcends anything in the universe. God majesty is too great for human eyes to behold or completely understand on this side of Heaven. These attributes can become the greatest challenge for skeptical humanity to accept the Lordship of God in their lives. To such a God, we who believe, attribute both the highest honor, glory, and power that shall never cease. As believers, we trust in God for our life here on earth, and for our future life eternal in Heaven.

Blessings
