1:5 when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.

Hello Friday. So glad to arrive at the eve of the weekend once again. I really needed the inspirational thought for today. When an awaking occurs, it is always accompanied by the corresponding reaction by the evil one. If we are spiritually asleep, we pose no threat to the devil’s work of disruption and discouragement. When we are awakened, we are not his enemy and we will be bombarded with trials, challenges, and struggles as a way to throw us offer our spiritual growth journey. This inspirational thought reminds me that as an awakened follower of Jesus I stand firmly on the hope of Christ through every situation in my life. My prayer is that you have that same firm foundation in your life.
In our pick verse today, Paul in encouraging Timothy reminds him of the deep roots of faith from which he was raised. Timothy’s mother and grandmother, Eunice and Lois, were early Christian converts, possibly through Paul’s ministry in their hometown of Lystra. They had effectively communicated their strong Christian faith to Timothy, even though his father was probably not a believer. The intentional discipling of Timothy by these two women should be an encouragement for each of us to accept our responsibility and then seize the opportunity to share our faith with those in our own household, and also within the household of our church family. Additionally, I need to make sure that what I say about Jesus is followed by actions that point in a positive way to my commitment to Jesus.
