Sunday - October 24th – 2 Timothy 2:15-16     -----

2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16 But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
WHEN YOU DON’T FEEL LIKE READING YOUR BIBLE, THAT’S THE TIME TO READ IT.*

Good Sunday to you my blog friends! What a great day to worship God with all of our heart, mind, strength, and soul, - and while we are at it to love our neighbor more than we love ourselves. Our inspirational thought is a great Sunday reminder of the importance of staying connected to the one who we claim to follow. Finding time to read scripture, especially when we don’t think we have time or when we don’t feel like listening to God, provides the foundation of who we are as followers of Jesus. If we only rely on someone else telling us what is in the Bible, we run the risk of receiving misinformation, or being manipulated by an agenda, or not getting the whole picture. I am always amazed of the new things I learn when I read scriptures that are already familiar to me. God’s word is relevant in a powerful and timeless way.  Read a couple of verses today as a way to jump-start your time in God’s word.

Our pick verses today follow up where yesterday’s introduction began with Paul’s instructions on how to deal with false teachers in the church. Paul utilizes both a positive and a negative instruction in these two verses. Both sets of instructions focus on teaching all Christians the truth about God. False teachers may seek human approval, but the true teacher seeks God’s approval because they do not want to be ashamed of their words before God. False teachers may twist meanings for their own purpose, but true teachers will be straightforward in sharing the truth. True teachers are not called to defend the words of scripture but allow the power of God to speak into the heart and soul of everyone. The true teacher must have nothing to do with godless or empty talk. Such discussions only lead people away from God.

Blessings
