Tuesday – October 26th – 2 Timothy 2:19 -----
2:19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity."
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
“GOD HAS SENT YOU TO TEACH US,” SAID NICODEMUS OF JESUS. JESUS WAS MORE— HE WAS GOD COME TO TEACH.*
Good Tuesday to you! Thinking back on my naming the day of the week in this daily greeting takes me back to the early days of the pandemic and the “shelter in place” we lived with for a few months. There came a time when everyday seemed like the day before and I had to stop and look closely to see what day of the week it was. Without the normal this happens on this day and that happens on another day – all days seemed to flow together. As the days now are inching their way back to a more patterned routine I am wondering if it is still beneficial to highlight the day of the. I guess the lone exception would be knowing you are on the right reading for the day. So again, welcome to Tuesday.
Our pick verse today continues the familiar teachings of Paul on the sad but real subject of false teachings within the life of the church. The Christian church throughout the ages sits on a firm foundation of the non-negotiable truths of God despite the efforts of false teachers to teach otherwise. As believers we are under the seal of God’s ownership. Two facts assure us of our salvation. Frist, the Lord knows we belong to Him. Second, we know that we belong to God because we have separated ourselves from false teaching and impure living. Christ’s church is called to be a holy people. It is not possible to have fellowship with God and continue to let sin abound in our life. One of the temptations of false teachings is that it suggests we can still enjoy our sins and be in fellowship with God. The truth is we can’t have it both ways.
Blessings

Wait till you are in retirement for awhile, you will occasionally wonder what day of the week it is.
