Monday – November 1, 2021 – 2 Timothy 3:6-7     -----

3:6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,
7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
     WITHOUT GOD, WE ARE NOTHING.*

Welcome to Monday.  What a great yet simple inspirational thought to start out a new week and a new month. With the beginning of what is typically a busy rush of holiday activities between now and the end of the year re-centering ourselves on who we are and to whom we belong can make for a much more peaceful life over the next two months. The simplicity of this statement is that unless God is immersed into the purpose of our many activities, we will struggle through them in vain and finish out the year in a sense of complete emptiness. As we begin this new week let each of us focus on putting God at the center of our existence and as the go-to in all of our many decisions.

In our pick verses today and tomorrow Paul speaks into specific situations he is aware of in the church at Ephesus. He is providing instructions to Timothy on how to deal with these challenges that are attacking the harmony of the church and the strength of people’s faith. Paul is cognizant of those who are by deceit, pretending to represent honorable purposes as they “creep” into and attempt to destroy the households of vulnerable families. These predators selected families that were struggling under the guilt of sinful actions they had yet to overcome, thus making them victims of easy prey. Also selected as targets were those whose quest for knowledge, for the sake of knowledge, made them easy marks to accept the false teachers’ sensational ideas instead of holding onto the truth of the Gospel. These verses spin me right back up to our inspirational thought for today – without having God in our hearts we become susceptible to the evil one to lead us astray in our faith. Hold on my friends to the truth, please hold on!

Blessings
