3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith;
9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.

REVIVAL IS A NEW BEGINNING OF OBEDIENCE TO GOD.*
Hello Tuesday! Hope your week is off to a great start. Our inspirational thought reminded me that just a handful of weeks ago, here at SunRise, we were talking about the importance of revival. I wonder how many of us are still praying and seeking a personal awakening of our spirit all these days later. My fear is that many of us to easily transitioned from the awakened focus to our current “Eccentric” commitment focus. I would challenge all of us to re-embrace the importance of both personal and church-wide revival. I am convinced that God is still stirring new things in the lives of SunRise folks. How might you in the coming days re-ignite the flames of revival and awakening in your life? As we read in our inspirational thought, maybe the first step in to focus on our obedience to God.
In our pick verses today, Paul is describing the challenges believers will face in order to stay strong in their faith and in their service to God. According to outside the Bible traditions Jannes and Jambres were two of the magicians who attempted to reproduce Moses’ miracles on Pharaoh’s behalf. Paul explains that just as Moses exposed and defeated them, God will overcome the false teachers who were a plague to the Ephesian church community. Paul notes that sin always has consequences, and no one will “get away” with sin nor will they escape the natural consequences of their actions. We are to live each day as if our actions will be known to everyone. Now is the time to adjust or change any action you wouldn’t want revealed later.
