Wednesday – November 3rd – 2 Timothy 3:10-11     -----

3:10 But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance,
11 persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra--what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
TO KNOW GOD IS TO KNOW THAT HE SHOULD BE OBEYED.*

Good Wednesday to you!  Yesterday, I reminded us that we had been praying for an awakening in our own personal lives and in the life of SunRise. I also indicated that I believe God is already at work stirring the hearts and minds of SunRise folks while moving us toward something greater than ourselves – individually and collectively. What I didn’t include yesterday was a friendly reminder that anytime God is powerfully at work, the devil is doing his best to disrupt any advances we make to promote and populate the Kingdom of Heaven. Spiritual warfare is a real thing and is always going on around us. Sometimes spiritual warfare takes the form of healthy challenges, other times relationship disruptions, and even at times unpredictable attacks on the church building. Late Monday night the water main into the building ruptured flooding the parking lot and damaging a couple of the lower-level classrooms. While it would be easy to argue either for or against the hand of the devil being involved, the bottom line is this disruption in ministry focus will now direct our attention to building problems and financial redirection. Please continue to pray for God to awaken SunRise to where God is already at work to populate the Kingdom of Heaven.

In our pick verses today, Paul begins a new topic of encouraging Timothy to remain steadfast in the Lord in spirit of disruptions, challenges, and unsettledness in the church community.  Timothy had been Paul’s close associate and traveling companion for many years and as such had great knowledge of how Paul had handled adverse situations throughout his missionary efforts. Paul’s life was an ongoing example of faith toward God, love for all people, and perseverance in the face of tribulations. Paul’s understanding of longsuffering is the willingness to put up with the perceived shortcomings of others. These leadership attitudes are equally important for all believers as they reach their fullness in a Spirit-filled life. When we have the attitude of Jesus in us, we are able to face persecutions and setbacks knowing that through God’s power we will eventually be able to have victory over them. God’s grace is always sufficient for our every need.

Blessings
