Thursday – November 4th – 2 Timothy 3:12-13     -----

3:12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
WE FIND IT EASIER TO GO TO CHURCH THAN TO BE THE CHURCH.*

Hello Thursday.  What an appropriate inspirational thought for us as SunRise moves into the last weekend of its Commitment 2022 series. Being a fully committed follower of Jesus is a whole lot more than merely occupying a seat in a church building or viewing worship on your living room flatscreen. As believers we are called to “be” the church in every moment of our lives. To fully represent the Kingdom of Heaven in our homes, at our work/school, and in our social outings. Everywhere we go we will encounter someone who is in desperate need of what Jesus has to offer – unconditional love and grace-filled forgiveness. We may be the one person who has been given the perfect opportunity to share what we have experienced. Yes, it is far easier to “go” to church than “be” the church but is also far less productive if we are working to populate the Kingdom of Heaven.

In our pick verses today, we continue to explore Paul’s encouragement to Timothy to remain steadfast in his faith, belief, and actions. Even though Paul faced many forms of persecution throughout his ministry, he quickly pointed out that God enabled him to triumph over each of them. God’s amazing grace is always sufficient -in all ways at all times - when we are faithful to our calling. Knowing that God is on our side can inspire a believer to strive for a godly lived life in Jesus. This should be our highest ambition as a follower of Jesus. Those who live such a life will often meet opposition from people who want to continue to sin. Paul warns Timothy that those who practice evil but pose as God’s representatives will be eventual exposed for what they are. One evil will always lead to another evil, and those who practice deception are themselves prey to deception. Keeping our eyes fixed on the teachings of Jesus is the best defense to not fall into the traps of evil or deceptive people.

Blessings
