3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
FORCE MAY SUBDUE, BUT LOVE GAINS; AND THE PERSON THAT FORGIVES FIRST WINS THE LAUREL.*

Hello to this first Saturday in November and the last weekend of our “Eccentric” Commitment 2022 series. Making a commitment is our way to express our thanksgiving for the many blessings God has poured out on us both in the gift of salvation and in providing for our daily needs. The heart, mind, strength, and soul of every believer is to focus on God first and then love others more than we love ourselves. When we make a commitment to God, we intentionally begin living into what Jesus stated as being the two greatest commandments. If you haven’t filled out your 2022 Commitment card you can access it online at www.sunrisefamily.org/commitment. Being full-on and unashamedly committed to God in 2022 you will be labeled radically eccentric in the eyes of the world.

Paul closes out chapter 3 of his second letter to Timothy with two verses that are worth adding to your personal list of memorized scripture. In his instructions to Timothy to remain steadfast in his faith, in his commitment to God, and in his ministry appointment, Paul provides the foundation on which every believer can confidently stand for Christ. In his reference to “all scripture”, Paul is speaking about what was the Jewish scriptures of his day, that which we know as the Old Testament. However, his description also prophetically encompasses the entire New Testament as well.  The inspiration of scripture is God breathed and directed through each author by the power of the Holy Spirit. The purpose of scripture is to teach the true and unchanging doctrine of the faith, to challenge false teachings, to correct immoral activities, and instruct believers in a life of righteousness. The timelessness of scripture equips believers for service to others and to enrich our personal lives in Christ. It can be far easier to criticize and dismiss the Bible than to accept its discipline and instructions for our life. Even when we may not like what we read, it is important that we read and seek God’s word instead of settling on our opinion.

Blessings
