Sunday – November 14th – 2 Timothy 4:17-18 -----
4:17) But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
18) And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!

Today’s pick verses are the third installment of Paul’s closing remarks to Timothy. Paul moves from acknowledging those who failed to speak up on his behalf to the assurance that God is still on his side. God strengthened Paul so that he was able to use his imprisonment and first hearing as occasions to preach the message of Jesus in the highest court of the gentiles. At his first hearing God had also delivered Paul from “the mouth of the lion” – from a quick execution right then and there. We know that God did not save Paul from death, but God did deliver Paul from every evil work of the devil and ultimately give him full salvation and complete victory in God’s heavenly kingdom. The same assurance and promise are available to us as fully committed followers of Jesus. Lord Jesus use us where, when, and how you wish so your kingdom will grow!
