Wednesday – December 1st – Titus 3:4-5     -----

3:4) But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared,
5) not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
IF YOUR BEHAVIOR DOES NOT REFLECT YOUR BELIEFS, HOW VALUABLE ARE THOSE BELIEFS?*

Welcome to Wednesday and the first day of December 2021. Yes, we are only 24 days away from Christmas and 31 from the beginning of 2022. As I read our inspirational thought for today my first response was – OUCH!!  What a powerful and poignant indictment of Christians in general. The very fact that this statement needs to be posted in a Bible that walks us through scripture in a year’s time speaks to the disconnectedness many Christians must experience between their behavior and their beliefs. For me it takes my full attention to ensure my behavior reflects my beliefs, and not just “my” beliefs, but beliefs that are affirmed and confirmed in the pages of scripture. One on the beauties of reading through the entire Bible in a year is that I discover new insights and learnings each time I read the scriptures. With only a couple of weeks before the new year begins - order your copy of the Daily Walk Bible and dedicate 2022 to reading from cover to cover.

In our pick verses today, Paul gives us the entirety of the Gospel message packed perfectly into a handful of verses. If you ever need a quick reference to God’s plan for humanity, then bookmark these four verses for ready sharing with someone who has questions. Since there is some much packed into these verses, we will dissect the first two today and the other two tomorrow. This is the story of God’s amazing grace at work in the lives of His creation. God’s love for us appeared in the God-in-the-flesh person of Jesus, who is thus called our savior. Though the actions of Jesus we are washed clean of our sins as symbolized in our Christian baptism. Our regeneration (rebirth) and renewing of our spirit are brought about by the Holy Spirit who makes us a new creation in Christ. This new life is the result of a real and radical change, a cleansing, the new beginnings of holiness as we are initially sanctified by God’s presence in our lives.

Blessings
